Official Preview

You know that I had to have this today on it's release date. I LOVE Sarah!!!

This album starts out brilliantly and just keeps going song after song. It does not hit a hiccup until her duet with Paul Stanley (Yes. THAT Paul Stanley). Their duet 'I Will Be With You' sounds a bit strained IMO and just does not really work for me although it has some beautiful orchestration.

Everything else is just Sarah at the top of her game. There is even a show stopping number ala 'Question of Honour' (Running) to end the album.

The two standouts so far though are Symphony and Fleurs Du Mai. Brilliant.
The cover art and enclosed photos are also stunning.

Why are you still reading this? Go out and buy it. Now.:D

Me too but it's really not a Goth music album. Very subtle if anything except for some aggressive orchestral/choir arrangements near the beginning and end.

From the samples I have heard, it sounds pretty dark, and the pictures form the album on her website, just gave the impression. But ok, I bet its still a great album. Wonder if it will come out in SACD or DVD-A?

Yeah..as a matter of fact i did. Lately i have been getting into some different styles than my usual tastes. Moreso just to experience something different as well as finding quality recordings to make the system shine. I thought this might be interesting but had never heard of her. I'm on my way out the door to grab it now though. :D

How would you assess the recording quality on this album?

The only other CD I have or have heard of hers is LA LUNA. I couldn't listen to it for the longest time because it was too harsh. But since I have thrown some tubes into the mix she is at the top of my CD rotation. How does the new CD compare to LA LUNA? I don't know why I like it so much. But I do. I think because the sound is so smooth with the tubes and it is also a little "different" for my normal music.

It has some similarities with La Luna as far as the overall orchestral sound.

That is the single most badass song on the album. Fleurs Du Mai it's freakin' awesome!!

So Darla, what CD's would you suggest (recording quality as well) for someone who does not own any. Yes, that would be me and I have been expanding the type of music I own in the past year.

Luna for sure. The SACD preferably. Harem and Eden as well. Dive I did not really like so much (gasp! I know). She also has a gazillion collection albums which get redundant to me so I don't have them. Ok..maybe a couple. Harem Live is good as well. I really like her brand of 'Pop Opera'.
The SQ is good on all of them but Luna stands out to me. I think she has had the same people for a while.

Time to Say Goodbye, preferably in SACD, is a must have, featuring Sarah, The London Symphony Orchestra, a duet with Andrea Bocelli, and two duets with Jose Cura.

This one is meant to be cranked on LSi15's. :D

Does anyone here notice the compression on "Fleur du Mal"?
