Sub through front pre out. Is this technically correct?

Hi Guys, since I´ve thinking about Polk method and so on and the speaker level hook up was not so good (Lot of noise and interference), I´ve tried the front (Left) pre out direct to line in in the Sub.
Set the fronts to large and others to small, sub to no. Seems to be a bit better but no sure yet.
Confused with crossover settings, since I´ve turned off the sub but crossover settings keeps on and available to set. May I set the crossover anyway?
Is this correct?
Wait for your comments.
Thanks.

Sorry, I'm a little confused. If you wire the speakers to the binding posts on the back, then you should be able to use the 'subwoofer' RCA preout to the L ch. of the sub.
IF you go the Polk way, run the speakers via the sub, then you set the sub to off/ no, AND set the volume/ Hz manually on the back of the sub.
IF you wire the speakers direct, then use the sub preout on the Denon to the sub L ch., then you can set the 'Crossover/ LFE' to 80hz.
What kind of speakers do yo have?
Please reply with more dataI refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE! -

Hi! Let me explain, maybe was not clear.
The connection that I use now is the preamp output for the left channel from my Denon to line in (left) in my sub. Not the sub out from Denon. All the speakers are wired directly to Denon, just change the sub out for preamp out. Front speakers to large, others to small and sub set to no.
What about crossover settings in this case?
Please let me know if not clear at all.
Sat Sub System RM 6800, seems to blend better. xover to 150...

O.K. Run the RCA cable from the subwoofer preout on the Denon to the sub RCA L ch.,
Set all speakers to small, set crossover to 80-120hz.(whichever sounds best)
You should be good to go.
If not, i.e. doesn't sound good, reply with additional info. Good luck.I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!
