Ok, excuse my French, but this is really starting to piss me off.
I cant even listen to a CD anymore, on my PC, with crap popping up from the CD's website. Just to listen to it. Then it wont play because the website is not valide or some crap like that.
I tryed to watch a movie the other night. Same ****. When loading, it asked my to install some pcDVD crap, that never installed correctly, and I could not watch the movie.
Here is a snap shot of Godsmack Faceless CD is doing. I right click in the CD go to explore, but there is no music, just a flash reader, autorun file and icon folder. NO MUSIC!!!. Double clicking the flash player sends me to the same invalide website. Another cd opened the flash player asking me to put my email address to access the song on a website. I did the same thing, right click , go to explore, but no music.
Am I doing something wrong here. Seems like I never had problems before just popping in a cd and listening to it. I use VLC and Winamp. But the only thing that seems to read the disk and find the music is windows mp.

Well, in order for a CD and DVD to work in your standard CD and DVD players, they all have to be the same (i.e. the music has to be there as well as the movie for the DVD).
The problem is companies like to put software that starts up automatically on their CDs and DVDs, making it difficult to watch them.
To avoid this, hold down the Shift key in Windows while you insert the CD and don't let go until Windows has initially read the disc or disable the auto start feature on your discs (if you disable the feature, make sure to take the disc out and put it back in afterwards).
If neither of those options work for you then you most likely have some sort of software that previously installed preventing you from accessing the files on the CD. See if you can rip it or play it in Windows Media Player or iTunes. If you can't, I'd recommend running something like Spybot and do some searching regarding the disc that may have caused it as I'm sure others have experienced this. If all else fails then, unfortuantely, you may need to format and reinstall Windows. -
I will try the auto start disabling. Thanks, I am able, however, to listen to the disc via window player. But when going to open the disk itself or going to explore the disk, no music tracks can be found.
My othe players, WinAmp and VLC will not or cannot play the disk.Monitor 7b's front

Will WMP let you rip the CD? -

Yes it plays in normal cd players, I can also rip it with WMP. It must have a DRM (?).
