A couple days ago i noticed no sound coming out from one of my subs. At first i thought it was my amplifier, but then when i got to looking at it i realized that one of my DX 12's was blown! i called polk customer service and they said just to send it back and they would replace it with a similar model because they no longer produce dx's. but my question is what about the other DX i have?! it wont be the same as the one the send back! he said they would more than likely send me a GNX sub back, which is cool, but then i have to make a new box and it still wont match my other dx 12! so i was wondering if there was anything i could do about this. ive been thinking about going with 4 GNX 10DVC's,.,.,.,. i dont suppose i could send both my subs back through down some extra money and make that happen?? i dont know, just a thought,,,,,,

dude be careful what you do -- dont give away gold for a sack of magic beans!!!!!!!...

the dx woofers are good woofers... respectable bass producers.

the gnx are - well.. dude they're "entry level" subwoofers... the circuit city salesman hwo make commission off selling them will even tell you so... the power handling is VASTLY LOWER than the DX -- the gnx are not "bad" -- do not get me wrong.. they are just not in the same "class" as the DX/DB.

Polk should have some DX's left in overstock --- i bought 4 DX 12's off them not 4 months ago (bought direct from polk cust svc).

I would think long and hard about downgrading... What would be more wise would be to tell polk "look.. i understand u dont have these speakers anymore -- so how about you give me the credit of what i paid for them toward the cost of two new momo's"--- if i'm not wrong.. normal retail price on the dx12 was 169 - the new momo 12 is going for 215 -- for 90 bucks (if htey'll do it) youcan have two momo's instead of giving away your DX's for GNX's ---

the GNX can be had at circuit city for 110 bucks --- DX was 169 -- that means ulose 60 bucks a sub. that's not a good thing... 400 rms DX versus 200? rms on the gnx (not sure.. maybe more / lessbut i think its 200).

just tryin to give u a heads up because i've down the "downgrade" thing withsubwoofers -- and i've never been happy -- i've just kicked myself and regretted it.

Press the people at polk -- i bet you they can dig you up a DX.
