Polks and tubes?

I've been thinking of diving into the shallow end of the tube amp pool with a low cost tube amp such as the Zen or the very cheap Antique Sound Labs Wave-8 monoblocks ($99 each!). Was wondering if any Polk owners have experience running their speakers off of tube gear. I have several pairs of Polks, the best being RT1000s. At 90db, they should be effecient enough for reasonable sound levels, but i figured i'd best check for any first hand experiences.
thanks,
Ray

I need links to these amps you speak of.....

Interesting thought, as far as tubes go, my only experience is with horn-loaded speakers....(and guitar amps).

    Cheers,
    Russ

If nothing else, glowing tubes and polks sure would look cool anyway....

Yes, divertech.com for the ASLs and Decware.com for the Zens. The Zen only puts out about 1-2 watts, but apparently this is enough to drive most reasonably efficient speakers to a good listening level (obviously not blasting with something like a Polk).

I'm using the ASL Wave 8 monoblocks with Polk RT35is. They are terrific. Imaging is solid, sound is warm and detailed. Most importantly, they make music fun. They play loud but the Polk's impedance curve probably causes them to clip at lower levels than the 90 db sensitivity would suggest. I haven't seen the curve for the RT35i, but if it's similar to the RT25i (published in Stereophile), there's a dip to 4 ohms.
