I just got the polk db 6501s in my 2001 chevy ext. cab truck yesterday. They kinda sound not as loud as expected. They bass was ok for a 6.5 component. But my question is that, is there a specific "break in" time for the speakers to sound great like subwoofers do or are they as good as it gets.

    They will sound WAY WAAAY better after the break-in that i can guarantee you :). As for the bass, what amp you currently using to power them with? and are they deadened already?

    (deadening makes a huuuuge diff in midbass output in particular so definitely prioritize having that done if they havent already been done)
