Increasing performance of my Bic-h100 sub

After calibrating my Yamaha 1800 with cross over set at 60Hz and telling my receiver to output base on my front LSI15 AND SUB. I watched 310 to Uma on BluRay last night (btw, this move just rocks for 7.1 PCM, one of the best I have ever heard. I might need to buy this for reference material). But anyways, I noticed the base is not too deep and was wondering how I can increase the deepness of my sub? Should I manually increase the crossover? Biamp (not sure what that means.

Also, when I turned up my sub volume close a little bit over halfway, the receiver complained it was too loud. Why is it complaining and what are the effects if I dont lower the volume (base distortion?)

Any help appreciated.

Thanks
Receiver: Onkyo TX-SR805
Amp: Emotiva XPA-5
Front: LSI15
Center: LSIC
Sourround: FxiA4
Rear: Fxi3
Sub: Bic H100
TV: Sony 52' XBR4

Try the sub in a few different locations in the room.

i might be wrong on this but try seting the phase 180 deg off on the sub the bass from your front speakers might be canceling out your sub

I thought the same thing but I didnt notice too much difference when I toggle between the phases. Will try again tonight.

The only way I could reallyfeel the base if I turn the volume a little bit more than mid way

If you're turning the sub volume beyond the midway point, get a bigger, better sub because you're probably getting a ton of distortion.

In the meantime, try increasing the sub's volume from within the receiver and decreasing the volume on the sub.

I don't know if this really works or not ...

move your chair and put the sub where you normally sit. Now, play something. Walk around the room and find where the bass sounds the loudest. Put the sub there, put your chair back, and listen from where you sit.

Could it just be a weak LFE track?

    A sub with the LSi15's?

I wouldnt do it. 3 subs in 3 different locations. Asking for a headache. Probably have phase issues that cant be fixed. Phase correct @60hz but wrong @ 30hz. Then you fix that and end up the opposite, phase ok @30hz but wrong @ 60hz. A common problem when dealing with more than 2 subs. Tweek it the best you can.

    Just my opinion.
