I think have four 15 inch drivers should solve my bass issues. The crappy thing is that they need to be bi-amped. The interesting thing is that Clayton, the guy who makes them, recommends SS for the bass section and Class D for the Higher Frequencies.

Not really. But you can have multiple speakers

Kind of an off-the-wall comment, not sure where you are going with that. I have lots of Browning stuff, and it doesn't work any better if you are Mormon :o

I'm told the bass units are for rooms that have 25 X 50 X 25 dimensions. So far they have sold no bass units because the 4 15s that come with the system are more than enough. I am pumped. My first true full range speaker!

Yes Shipped. These are what I have been looking for. They are different and new! I wanted a speaker like no one else has and this is it. It's a bit planar and yet still has drivers.

People over at AudioCircle are living and dying by the way these things sound. They are saying they can hang with BMW 802Ds if not exceed them in some areas!

No no . . . these will not be intercepted by my frequent whims. They will arrive in three weeks. Anybody near Indy is welcome to stop by my place after these things break in.

Congrats SS! But, have you ever heard them?

Like I said in the other thread:

There is definately a lot of buzz about these with the audiophile press community (Rocky Mt., CES, Six Moons, Etc.). However, they sell optional "bass generators" for these at $1,795/pair. I think that tells you something about the sound on the low end. As with all open dipole speakers, the bass is always suspect. Optional "bass generators" is a clear admission that you will not be satified with the bass, even though the specs say it will go down to 20 Hz -3 dB. You have to trust your ears.

I would be concerned that they openly describe the "optional" bass generator for $1,795/pair. Would they sell this "bass generator" product if people were satisfied with the bass from this speaker?

Please don't get me wrong, I hope that sound great and work for you. I just see some Red flags here. I hope I'm wrong.

    Good luck:)
    Carl

We'll see, but the buzz on the net is that the bass is absolutely superb w/o the extra generators. The dealer at Underwood also said they haven't sold any generators and that they were for mega large rooms like a Church Cathedral. The Buzz on audiocircle is that the bass is very deep, very powerful and some of the best around.

You got more stones than I have to order them sound unheard. But, what the hell. Go for it my friend. Do they have a 30 day return policy?

I have a guarantee that if I don't like the CS2s then Underwood will allow me to return them and buy the Gallos for only $500! I'd say that's standing behind your product and recommendations.

Duh, let me explain as it appears you're the one who needs a clue.

The second sentence started the "Seriously though" to indicate the sentence/prior post above was not being serious. As in, take it lightly that is just a joke.

    Of course no one cares.
