Crossover connection to Amp

OK, this is probably a silly question but how should I connect the crossover to my amp? The crossover has - & + inputs for both the woofer and tweeter. Do I combine the positive woofer and tweeter inputs into the same positive output of the amp, and vice versa for the negative? This is for the MMC6500 components. Thanks guys....

    Need more info. Is this a 2-way or 3-way crossover? 12 dB/oct?

If it is a 2-way 12 dB crossover, there should be two input wires. These input connections go to the amp(+to+ and -to-). If they are marked GND and IN, gnd is - and in is +.

For the speaker connections, you should have a GND(or COMMON) and then WOOFER and TWEETER connections. Take the + lead from the tweeter and short this together with the - on the woofer and the GND on the crossover. WOOFER on the crossover goes to + on the woofer. TWEETER on the crossover goes to - of the tweeter.

Pics help. Take a picture with your phone if you have to and post it.

I have basically the same question.
I have The Momo MMC6500 6.5" System as well.
    2 way crossovers-6dB
    Alpine PDX 4.150 amp.
I have the amp output to the crossover input (2 wires +/-).
On the crossover I have 4 outputs.
    +/- for the woofer and
    +/- for the tweeter.

I get sound through all 6 speakers but there is no bass or that rich sound.
And when I turn it up a bit..not too lound..the speakers cut out and stop.
I have to turn off my head unit and then back on and the sound comes back on. Sound quality is not there...just sounds bad.
I have the gain on the amp all the way down and it still cuts out.
In my manual it says something about "Extending frequency response using mid-range extension" and mentions an "ON" switch.
I can't see or find the "ON" switch on my crossovers..don't know if that has anything to do with it or not.

This weekend I was just going to double check all the speaker connections..grounds etc...and see if I find a mistake or a loose connection or something grounding out.

    any ideas?

    hasta:)

    Correction...
My crossovers have 4 inputs and 4 outputs. Woofer/tweeter IN and Woofer/tweeter out....sorry..
I have the +/- from the amp going to the +/- input for the woofer..and the switch in 'single' mode..tried in dual and it sounded worse.

I switched the wires from the amp to the crossovers to the tweeter input.
    Now it sounds better.
But it still cuts out when the volume is raised.
It sounds fine at lower volume levels.

Speaker connections all good and tight.
Ground wires seem to be OK.

Make sure the midrange extension switch is off.

That crossover is a unit from what I remember and has full connections. Try (+) on tweeter to (+) on crossover tweeter connection. Repeat for the (-). Do the same for the woofer.

I was reading about that switch in the manual.
For the life of me I cannot find the "ON" switch on the crossover for the mid range extension.
Nothing inside the crossover when you take the cover off.
On the sides is the single/dual switch and on the output side is the tweeter dB adjustment.

Do you think it possible that I need to add a capacitor?
I have one on order and I am hoping that will remedy my concerns.
Because I am also adding an Alpine PDX-1.1000 amp to power dual 12" Kicker subs.
It's gotta be something simple that I am missing..frustrating
Still reacting the same...sounds pretty good at lower volume but when you turn it up the sound cuts out..will come back on after a short period..then go out again.
Turn off the car and power down my Alpine IDA-X001 and it will come back on.

thanks so much for you help:)

same issue here. I am adding a second Alpine mrv-t420 to my system. Bridged mono for 320 wpc for the momo's. I have an Alpine cda-9833 that has active 3-way crossovers built in. I think what I am reading in the install book, is that by turning the switch on the crossover, I can bypass the low filter to the 6.5" and control the signal using my head unit. I am going to try running two input signals and see what happens. There is no "on" switch on my crossovers, but the switch that does not say tweeter level should be the one you guys are looking for.
If God had intended for us to listen to anything made by Bose, surely he would not have given us ears.
