SDA Problems!

Around every bend there is a problem with SDA's. No wonder they stopped making them! But the sound makes it all worth while in my opinion...

My latest problem:
My new preamp states that the absolute phase is 180 degrees out of phase and so the speakers should be wired out of phase. (+ to - and - to +). Of course with SDA's you cannot do this. What I have been considering is swapping the polarity going to each individual driver in each SDA. Does this make any sense?

The reason the pre-amp is like this is because they left out an extra stage which inverts the output back to normal to shorten the signal path.

    madmax101,

What are you doing? Get another high quality, higher powered amp and leave the SDA's alone.

Just curious Chuck, why can't you wire them out of phase at the binding posts? I just did with my CRSs, sounded like crap, but I don't have your preamp either.

    Cheers,

As you probably know, the grounds of the amp are at the same potential and so are the two ground posts of the SDA's (due to the interconnect cable). Connecting the positives to the ground posts of the SDA's connects them together. What you end up with are two amps wired in parallel and a big bang! (or at least mono)
