How much are you looking to spend and where are you located?

Thanks for quick response! Honestly, I haven't the foggiest what I'm willing to pay, guess I should of researched thought about it a bit. Unless you have a price in mind, I will get back to you.

I am in Detroit. However, I have family in Bothell, Bainbridge and Kitsap...so if you didn't want to ship, I could call in a family favor and do locally.

    Thanks,

    Mike

Think about it...let me know what you think. I wasn't planning on selling, but may due to not being employed right now (lay-off). I am in Bothell, so probably close to your family.

Based on what I've seen (craigslist for $130), I think I can get them for no more than $200 all in (shipping, etc.) UPS standard shipping will probably run about $45. Let me know if you are interested.

How critical is the "I" in your search? Are you specificaly looking only for the RT35i or would the RT35 work also?

I am trying to match RT800i and CS400i. All I am going on is specs. And my understanding is that the tweeters, crossover and cabinets materials are different. I am interested in using them for 5.1 audio more than video surround. Would the RT35 match? I don't know. Figured I would hold of a while and try to find the RT35i or maybe even RT55i.

    Thanks,
    Mike

Sorry, took a closer look at mine...stickers are gone, so looked at the driver - black...so I have the RT35.

I am also pairing them with the RT800i and a CS300...I don't think there is a significant difference in sound between the "i' and non "i' model...they seem to blend pretty well in my set up.

Let me know if you don't find your 35i or 55i you are looking for and maybe want to consider the 35. Go for the 55i if you can - they are great speakers.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.

    Cambir,

Thanks much, appreciate the welcome. Found some RT35i for $119. Shipping is probably gonna run $80 :(. Would love the RT55i but can't imagine having those things hanging on the wall...they're nearly 15" deep. Still going to keep my eye out for some f/x500i. The RT35i can always be repurposed and do well as mains in another room, I have a PSW250 laying around that has never been used (free with Rt800i purchase) that would compliment them nicely.

    Thanks again,
    Mike

Great find on those 35i...except for the shipping. Keep in mind the 35 are about 12" deep...not too much less than the 55. :D I can't imagine either of them on my wall. Good luck and enjoy!

I hear you, lesser of two evils I guess. The f/x500i would have the most appealling aesthetic; however, the more I read and think about it I'm not sure the 500's would double duty as well for music and video surround...considering I am most interested in music.

My room is not ideal for positioning surrounds. I'm in a loft and the listening/vewing area is part of a continuous space that is roughly 42' x 18'. 12' ceilings. I have to run conduit, yada, yada. If I did surround rears they would have to hang from the ceiling.
