Hello again audio pros!

I'm in the market to purchase an external amplifier to help give my speakers some more juice. They are currently all running off my HK247 that's sending them 50wpc. I WANT MORE!!! Since my AVR has preouts, does it matter what amplifier I hook up to it or do certain amps work better with HK products? I've been checking the net religiously for an amp and I can't believe how expensive they are! I want to make sure I get the right one the first time. Please advise.

I have used Adcom's with my HK, and they have played very well. I wouldn't run out, and buy new. You can get a used Adcom for $350 or less if you shop long enough. With the RTI 10s I would suggest a GFA-555.

Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

I'm planning on adding an amp and use my HK AVR 247 as a pre-pro as well. How does an Adcom-HK-RTi combination sound? I was thinking either the GFA-6000 or GFA-7400.

I'm also looking at Carver, B&K and Rotel but haven't pulled the trigger yet because I'm still gathering information on how those different combos will sound. I don't like overly bright sound but I find warm tube sound to be too dull for my taste (all HT, loud action movies)

i have a carver m-200t running a pair of rti10s and it sounds great. Found it on ebay for around 150$
heres a link to one on ebay with a day left. no affil

i also own a carver pm-300 which is very similar to the m-200t, just rackmount and volume control added. Both amps are around 125x2 at 8 ohm and have extremly low harmonic distortion.

I'd try B&K out of those amp manufactures as they are on the neutral/warm side. Used ST202 perhaps as it can be had used for a very reasonable price. If you're after 5ch amp then B&K AV5000 is an excellent choice.

I have found most of the Rotels to be on the bright side so I wouldn't recommend them for RTi's. Adcom is pretty neutral sounding to me.

I had an HK340/Adcom GFA6000/RTi8 combo and it sounded pretty good, the slightly bright RTi8 mated with the warm HK, balanced out the sound nicely.
