Whatever you do, keep replying. No panties wadded here, you're the one doing the flag waving, not I kind Sir.

Different strokes for left handed people, keeps it fresh and fun.

The more I think about it, the more I like Mike's idea of new speakers. Nothing against your current speaks--I've never heard them; just saying that you can't beat the huge difference a new set of speaks provide. Also, I'm finding that at the level you are, changes to anything but speakers is going to be very, very subtle--not much bang for your buck.

As much as I like my speakers, if I were seeking an upgrade in my system, they would be the first to go. Speaker upgrades are just way more exciting/satisfying, and would make far more of a sonic impact than replacing anything else I have. I would definitely break into the $2500-$5000 bracket--I think this is the "sweet spot" for the law of diminishing returns with speakers (MY opinion).

Just something to chew on Sid.

when in doubt, blame the cables.

"In my opinion, the ________ sounded a little too black and clinical. . . but, it could've just been the cables."

    Pretty much safe-guards every post/opinion.

Flag waving? Nope, just my opinion. However, if you want to look at it that way, I guess we could call your comments flag burning.

BTW, thanks for the "keep replying" comment. As if, kind Sir.

    Keep in mind...

I am very- happy with my current system...

Infact, I dont need to change a thing...

However, I wouldnt mind improving it...

I just realize that the weak point in my system is by far the CDP...

Those Taylos are my babies, man are they SWEET sounding...

You make an excellent point about the DAC and transport...

And I think you may be right...

    *sigh*

But yeah, these Taylos absolutely ROCK and they get better and better...

    Jesus what a fantastic speaker...

Reconsider. Have you thought about it possibly being PC's, IC'a or SC's?

In my rig, they have a major impact on the final result. If you buy used, most of the time you can flip them for around the same cost as you acquired them at. More food for thought.

To the rest of you, I doubt Trey will ever get rid of his speakers. If he does, it will be an upgrade of the Tyler's lineup. I would imagine if he came home and the house was on fire, he'd go running in getting burned on the way just to snag those babies. If you never have heard these speakers, give them some thought.

Even though I'm still running a two speaker stereo system, I'm very pleased with mine....even though they are not a full range speaker. Properly amplified, I have yet to hear "live" recorded albums sound like you are actually there from any other speaker I have heard to date. I believe that is their best attribute.

This is just my opinion. :D

IMO getting the room properly treated is going to give you a much larger return for your money then upgrading the CDP again.

My question is, what is it that makes you feel your CDP needs replacing?
