What's the difference between the RC60i and RC65i besides their shape and price?

Can the RC60i be used in-ceiling as front speakers in a 5.1 setup?

Did you mean can the RC60i's be used in-wall for fronts? I don't think you'd want your fronts in ceiling. You can mount either one where ever you like. The round design are typically for ceiling and more for ambience I would think. The rectangular design is probably a better design sonically. I went with the RC85i's all around and they are much better than I had anticipated. Check out the price,

Those prices are hard to beat. At that price you might as well go with the 85i's.
Or if you have to go in-ceiling for the rears, go with the RC85i's in the front and RC80i's in the rear,
