placing monitor 70s in corners

A combination of room shape and significant other's aesthetic tastes has forced me to push my new Monitor 70s into the front corners of my room. I've toed them in toward the center, where our sofa is, and it sounds OK but somewhat "cluttered." If I have to leave them in the corners, is there anything I can do to improve their performance?
