I picked up two of her albums based upon a fellow member's recommendation.
'Salt' and "Dreaming Wide Awake'.

I have had a chance to listen to listen to them both a bit and Salt is ok but Dreaming is excellent.

On Salt, Wright is just loud a lot IMO and the production value is not very good.

I think she may have received some constructive criticism and ran with it because Dreaming is everything Salt hints that it could be. If you like India Arie, Norah Jones etc. I recommend Dreaming While Awake.

    Oh, Wing --

I love Lizz Wright. I agree with you about the first album -- it wasn't mastered very well. "Dreaming Wide Awake" is mastered fairly well and serves as one of my reference CDs.

You gotta see her live. She doesn't talk much -- she just performs. Appears to be kinda shy. I'd love to see her do an album of standards someday.

Lizz has her third album slated to be released next month. I've already pre-ordered it.

I received Lizz Wright's latest release today, The Orchard. It's fantastic! Wifey really likes it, too. I think it's her best CD, to date.

Was looking for something new, so picked this up. . . and it's spinning now. Wow. Usually during a first spin, I don't have a connection with the fabric of the music and need to play it a few times. First spin and very nice. Track 6 has a very close miked bass that was almost startling. Well recorded, mixed and mastered so far. Thanks.

I found exactly one copy of Orchard at my local BB. I hope to give it a listen this week sometime.
