I am looking to pick up a used model. The owner lists it as upconverting to 1080p. Is this accurate. The Denon website does not give the upconversion (at least as far as I could see). Thanks.

Upscales to 720p or 1080i. Look at the product sheet at the Denon Archive.

Steve.....So, setting aside that the owner is wrong....and he just assured me he was not....is it worth picking up this unit for $200. I have a $250 panny right now, and it works very well....but then again, I haven't done any a-b comparisons with it. I have an HDTV that upconverts.....and I don't care about SACD or DVD-Audio. Thanks

Which Panny do you have? The S97 was (and still is) a great unit, every bit as good as the Denon in the video output department. Unless you want SACD or DVD-A, you're probably better off putting your money towards a Bluray.

That's the one. I also have a newer one with HDMI as well (77 I think) that is not nearly as good. Thanks.

Bill hits it again--if it's an S97, you've already got a very good player. Having said that, the 2910 is definitely a bargian at $200--provided it's in good shape. The 2910 puts out 1080i/720p/480p over HDMI. There is no 1080p output.
