PSW10 Sub

I connected this sub with the sub out from my receiver and using a Y-adapter for the RCA in L+R.
However, I don't notice any sound coming from the sub. Do I need to connect my speaker wires through the sub to get sound?

Make sure the receiver is set to send LFE to the sub.

Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

Also - simple but forgive me asking the obvious,
On your Sub:- Your sub is plugged in.
- Your sub is turned on. (If there is a power light of some kind on the back of the sub it is on)
- Volume control on the back of the sub is turned up 1/2 way.
- Crossover set to max. (as high as you can set it on the PSW10.)
In your AVR:- sub is set to on or yes.
- All other speakers are set to small (reguardless of percieved size). (front, center, rear and rear surrounds if there)
- Crossover for all speakers is set to 80hz. (Just noticed you may have the RM series of speakers (Rm10 to be exact), if that is the case, set your crossover to 150hz if at all possible.)
- The Subwoofer (or LFE) channel is set at least to 0. (the channel trim is not set to - something)
If all the above is followed and you still get no sound, report back with what is hooked up to your AVR, how it is hooked up to your AVR, and what you are using (demo material) to determine if the sub is working or not.

Thanks for the replies. The sub is working now. The cable I was using was faulty, so I replaced and it works fine now.
Yes I do have the RM10's, should I set the crossover to the highest? What does this do? -
takes all bass energy and send it to the subwoofer.
While you may be able to tell where the bass is coming from if you send signals greater than 80-120hz to the sub, your speakers are not able to play under 150hz so if you want to hear everything, set the crossover to at least 150hz for your subwoofer. (not a hard and fast rule, but worth seeing if you like the sound better or not anyway)

I've got the RM10s with an infinity sub (PS210) and the Onkyo 605 receiver.
I have the crossover set to 120 for the sub and satellites and it sounds excellent. -
I have a Onkyo 304 and I can set the Crossover on the receiver to 200hz max. I don't see an option to set the subwoofer frequency though. Unless this is only for all speakers?

the Crossover is the LFE. When you set xover that determines what freq. goes to the sub. good luck.I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!
