I don't know what I was doing wrong or what exact type I was looking at but they were all sold out. I was even running across articles talking about how they might not be made anymore.

They are not being made any longer, most tube sellers have run out of stock. I'd suggest you not dick around and place that order PDQ.

Thanks. I'll let you know. If the Ei's don't give me the sound I am looking for I might be interested in trying some of your tubes. The mullards particularly. Thanks.

Yeah, funny how they sound better than any other new or NOS 12AX7 that I've tried in the Jolida. Yeah, THAT is funny.

Can I just leave it on for a couple days? My new oppo needs some time to break in also. I already have it running on repeat. Could I just leave the two on running together? Does the volume need to be up on the jolida or can I leave it down?

Remember those Mullard's I got from you a long time ago, they were the worst. Nothing wrong with them, they just suck sound wise. Smoke that!

Obviously you'll want the speakers connected to it so the amp is presented with a load, because you ALWAYS want to have a load present when you're dealing with tube amplification.

Just thought I'd throw that out there; better safe than sorry. :)

Thanks for all the responses. I hooked everything up prior to pluging the unit in. So it will have a load on it at all times. I am listening to it right now and will just turn it down while I sleep and let it play through the night.

    I had some around here.
Actually, I liked the JJ Tesla's better, but you know how Tubes in different circuits work.
The Sovtek LPS 12ax7 is a decent tube for something you can readily buy.
Me, I like USED Mullards and Amperex.
But the EI's CAN be a majic tube, IF you get a good pair.
Try Jim McShane at Audio Asylum, he may have some ?

I have already got a pair.

I am actually looking to try other tubes now. Just don't know which ones yet.
