Using a newer, but lower end Onkyo surround receiver, where should i set the crossover on the receiver, to 60 or 80, i know the monitor 30s go down to 55, and start to drop off around 62 or 63 i think, so where should i set it? I tried 60 and that sounded cleaner then 80, but thinner as well, so....am i missing a lot of sound if i keep it 80, will there be a big gap?

Go for 80. Let the sub do what it does best. Make sure you've calibrated the sub's volume level, position in the room, and phase to try and clean up the boomy bass that you might have been hearing before.

    Speaker cables: MIT MH-750 bi-wire
    TT:Micro Seiki DD-35
    Cartridge:Denon DL-160
    Phono Pre:PS Audio GCPH

You are likely to miss more with 60 Hz crossover, since the higher it is the more the small bookshelves must be able to cover. At 63Hz Monitor 30 is already down by 3dB.
