My cousin has an older 5.1 Denon AVR, excellent reciever. Driving Mirage Frx-1 bookshelves. The 2 channel system, for what it is, sounds excellent. He came to me last night, saying he was ready for surround and asked what speakers I thought would match. I told him to stick with the Mirage line, they build excellent speakers. he said they were over his buget. He askes if there was anything, in the small cubical size (WAF), that would blend well with the Mirage. I have no clue. The Mirage really have a sound of their own. I need alittle help matching center and surrouns to these bookshelf speakers.

I will talk more with him tonight and see how much he is willing to spend. Probably around $400-$600 for the 3 speakers (2 surround, 1 center).

I have a link to the Frx-1's he has. I told him to move them to surround, he said they were too big to be surround, he needs a much smaller "satellite" speaker. Probably in the size of 4"x4", maybe a tad lager. There isnt much out there, escpecially if your trying to match to Mirage.

Any ideas would be appreciated..

Ok, he wants to go with the 5.1 Mirage Sat system, and leave his Frx as mains. I dont know if this is a good idea. The sat system is like the Omni. I think tenber match will be way off. I dont like the center channel the Mirage offers in that system. It just doesnt look right. i'm trying to tell him , if he wants to go with a small satellite system, to go with the Polk RM. But I have never heard the RM for myself. I wonder if out of these 2 satellite systems, if it would make a difference of which one he goes with.
