Have any of you guys checked this game out yet on the PS3?The story line video is exactly like Gears of War,but the game play is totally different, kinda small and cheap.I thought I finally found a graphic equivalent to GOW.Just a heads up.:)

On a PC, graphics wise, its the best looking game next to Crysis.

Hmmm, I'm showing that it came out last November. How did I miss that?

I have been playing it on the PC. This has been my favorite series of game to play on-line since the first one came out. Absolute domination. :D

The makers of Unreal Tournament made Gears of War, I don't think its small and cheap, its actually a bigger franchise then Gears of War. I actually like it better, although Gears of War is also a great game.

I was mainly talking about the game play, graphics wise.UT3 has a history but not with the gameplay graphics that GOW carries. To each his own though.:)

I've played about 5 minutes worth. Its very easy to pick up and start playing if you're familiar with the prior titles like I am. The graphics are gorgeous.

It's a lot of fun. More or less the same as 2004 with better graphics, but still well worth the purchase.

Is it just me, or is UT3 faster/quicker than 2004?

My only issue with the UT series is they're beginning to remind me of the "Madden" of first person shooters. It seems like every year they're coming out with a new one.

I still can't understand how you guys can play a FPS with a controller. The day the make a console that will let you, out of box, use a keyboard and mouse for aiming is the day I'll actually buy a current gen one.

I have both UT 2003 and UT 2004 for sale if anybody is interested 10 bucks for either one. I love playing either one especially at LAN parties. But I am getting older and don't play as much so that is why I am selling them. Great games though.

Not to crap on your offer, but you can buy UT2004 for $10 new from places like Amazon, etc.

It's probably more worth your time just to keep it or pitch it in the trash if you're done with it.

I think the PS3 allows it.

It's weird. I always hated FPS on computers (I sucked and it gave me a headache). So I never even bothered trying them on a console. However, I recently got a PS3 and found COD4 to be very fun and very playable with a controller. I still suck at FPS, but at least I now see why so many people like them.

Between Gears and Unreal, Epic is the king of shooters. There, I said it.

Oh I don't know. I think Valve with the Half-life/Team Fortress/Counter-Strike series might have something to say about it....

Half Life definitely is the superior story, but I never understood Counter Strike, and I can't get into Team Fortress for the life of me. I stand by Epic, and I am not usually one to go against the local guy (Valve).

Counterstrike is a lot different than other types of shooters. It's less of a purely "twitch" shooter and more of a skilled one. It's one of the many reasons it's been used in professional gaming(there's professional everything, isn't there?) since the early 2000's.

Besides, if you actually spend some time and get past the learning curve of the weapons, it's a vastly superior team game. Having the 1 life per round feature makes people much more tactful and careful than other fps out there.

Honestly, I enjoy the pacing more of Counterstrike and the original UT compared to the later versions of the Epic series. They want to make it as fast as humanly possible, and while I'm fine with that, it loses its appeal after a while.

Counter strike is one of the few games i actually play. I'm on a server that bans you for not working with your teammates, and has very strict rules about what you can and cant do.

For instance if its a bomb map, CTs must stay near the bomb sites. If its something like office, the terrorists must stick near the hostees.

Which server do you play on? That sounds infinitely more appealing than ones loaded with 12 year olds.
