Ok, I've made the move to Bluray, and I've got a dedicated SACD player, so this lovely Denon is kinda redundant right now (I don't have any DVD-A), so its time to offer it up for sale.
I'm the original owner, picked it up in January 2005 from Listenup. I have the original box/packing, remote, manual, etc. The remote has only been used a few times since I've always used a Universal remote. This baby should be totally like new. Upon receipt, it was placed directly in my elevated shelf and has not moved since then. It should be completely flawless, but if for some reason, I put a nick or slight scratch on the top/back/sides while putting it in the shelf, I will post an update. I will take this out of my system Tuesday night and inspect it closer, but 99.5% sure its flawless. Firmware is also upgraded to the very latest that Denon offered.
For those that are unfamiliar with the 2900, it plays any red laser disk, DVD, SACD, DVD-A, MP3, CDs, CDR, DVD+R/RW, etc., and does and excellent job with all of them. This is a 480p component video output player (no HDMI or DVI). I'd rather have this non-upscaling 480p player than any of the macroblocking Faroudja players.
It scored an excellent '90' on the DVD Benchmark This is probably among the best 10 DVD players ever. Very robust construction, weighing in at almost 18 lbs. It has been termed "the Ferrari of DVD players" because of its exceptionally fast operation through menus, screen changes, layer changes, etc.
Denon Web Archive
This has the excellent Silicon Optix NSV chip, that is known for its exceptionally smooth film-like image quality. NO MACROBLOCKING HERE!
Also known for its great SACD and CD playback, this is a top notch player that originally retailed for $999 and was seldom discounted.

Good man!
I bought a used one (but looks brand new) from a forum member. Fantastic player!
You got a great price on a great unit!No excuses! -
I miss my 2900

I've got a 2900 and love it. Even when I buy my BR player, I won't be selling this one. It's a keeper.

Yeah, yeah, I'll probably have Denon withdrawl on this one too, but I don't have room to have the Denon and my new Bluray, and my SCD-333ES in the living room. My shelving is limited. Having the Sony SACD in the living room will lessen any symptoms I might have. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

I still get up and boogie when I play mine I got from Early B. You'll like this one Joe.
Congrats! -

Yes sir. That was the exact Denon that I was looking for and the 2910 got me confussed, which these days isn't hard to do. -

I heard it at Polkfest GA both SACD and DVD-A and was sold on it then. -
I'd go ahead and send that out for a hot rod mod.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Thanks guys. I'm going to be selling the Oppo HD 970 that Madmax lined the transport and inner case with Dynamat. I think I'm going to throw in a 25' HDMI cable.
I post a separate ad.
Thanks again Bill. -

Which are you speaking of Mark? -
The usual suspects....Underwood, Modwright or SACDmods.com. I would go with Matt @ SACD but it's your dime.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Got it, I'm just waiting for my cables to come up from Ben. I'm going to connect it to a Musical Fidelity Tube Buffer and then to the Tri Vista . . . I am salivation.
Thanks Bill. -
Get yer "Boogie Pants" on! I'm thinking about a DAC for mine. Any suggestions?
