Not sure what the point of the post is, unless it is just merely FYI stuff.

At any rate 18 bills for a 2205 is a little steep. I have one, and I refer to it as 'my precious', but I think a grand is more realistic.

The point of the post is that he is looking out for his friend's here at the Club. Some of us may be looking for sweet deals on amps, and when people throw out prices from ones around the country, it gives everyone a chance to see what a going rate is for particular brands.

    I know I appreciate it!

Yeah, these seem over priced to me. I guess they're helpful as a "could've been worse, you could've paid $1800 for a Parasound 2205" kind of scenario.

    :)

You can probably find a better deal on Agon for similar amps.

Overpriced. Ethan and Andy seem to be the only folks in reality....
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

it's hard to find decent gear in this city well used that is. I too found it a bit expensive but let it sit for a while and offer him your price, I'm sure he'll take it. For example, my Ma700, the guy was asking 650$ for both. I ended up buying them for 350$...so yeah it's a good deal. If you don't like the price...move along...no need to post " don't see what the need for this is"; I never mentioned anything about this being a great deal.

Take a look at canuckaudiomart.com. I see stuff in Ottawa fairly often.

I guess being in the great white north does add some unseen obstacles to the used audio gear buying process. So, for Canadians, that might be a decent to good deal. . . I don't even know what the currency exchange is. Could be a great deal for Canadians.

But, for USA-ans, there are much better deals for you stateside. When I'm looking for a random audio purchase without wanting to do much digging, I jump on the Audio Deals of the Day thread and purchase something there.

Getting something across the border is sometimes tricky, I try to avoid it.

Gear should be priced relatively the same because of the weakening of US$ making the CDN$ dollar on par.

For you canucks, you can always advance search audiogon and plug in canada in the zipcode box.
