Is it okay to mix different model of speaker?
I plan to place my order at crutchfield. Here is my plan
RTI6 for front
CSI3 for center
and
Monitor 30 for surround sound and a subwoofer
Is it okay to mix different model or I have to buy RTI4 for my surround instead of the Monitor 30? Thanks

If you don't already own different models, don't buy them intentionally. Stay within the same line if you can. If you already own the Monitor 30s, then use them until you save a little more $$$ and sell them to fund the purchase.HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable

Welcpme to Club Polk !
I don`t think that the rears get that much information that it would be very critical...I may be wrong, but I think for now you are fine..
The front soundstage is critical, as that is where 85% of the sound will be comming from
If you can swing the RTi4`s go for it, but the little moniters should be fine..
Your ears will tell you if they will work or not..

I use a pair of Monitor Radius 45 cubes for my surrounds due to space constraints and I like them a lot. They work great for movies, sports, etc. They have back firing tweeters which helps with the dispersion. I don't listen to SACD's and play all my music in stereo so it works out well. I think the front stage timbre matching is very important.....but you can be a bit more flexible with the surrounds if you're not heavy into SACD, etc.B&W 804s mains

I agree. I tried a non timbre matching set of rears with my setup originally, but am much happier with a matching set.

Thanks for all the responds. I have a quick question. Is the polk DSW PRO 400 a good sub? Since i get 200 credit toward a polk sub, i might just use it. thanks
