SOLD on the 'Gon!!!
Y'all,
Up for sale is my Bel Canto DAC2. Wonderful sounding unit. I'm only selling to go another direction and hopefully a step or two up the food chain. You'll be hard pressed to find a better unit especially at my price. (see below) If you've been thinking of taking the DAC leap and can't quite afford Joe's Timbre DAC, then this unit is a no-brainer. I just did a shootout between it and a tubed CDP. Let's just say that if you are thinking of dipping your toes into a tubed source but are unsure about the whole tube thing...then here's a good place to start as well. Here's some pictures below.

I'm looking for $600 shipped from Tucson, AZ. I'm firm on this price since it is a pretty decent deal, especially considering the historical prices on Audiogon and even the Polkie discount. I have the owner's manual and the stout factory packaging.
Thanks for looking. E-mail or PM is fine.

Do you think this would be superior to the DACs in my CDP?
And do you think Joe's would be a substantial upgrade for 300 more?
Thanks- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -

Buy it and try it! At my price I'm sure you can make your money back unless the market got flooded with them.
Seriously, I'm not sure. I suspect Joe's would be the way to go if you want even more analog sound from a solid state piece of gear, just based on his affinity to vinyl and how long he had the Timbre DAC around.
OTOH, without having listened to a Shanling, I'd suspect the Bel Canto to be in the ballpark, give or take a bit. I would bet that a unit like the Shanling would be about the top-side of roughly equivalent gear.

I love mine. I got better results with it versus either a Musical Fidelity A324 DAC or a Rotel RCD1070 CD player.SDA-2a, Anthem Pre-2L, Anthem Amp 1, MF A324 DAC, Rotel RCD1070
