I am trying to figure out a way to connect my speakers directly to a receiver so that I don't have to get up each time I want to adjust the volume.
These are the speaker specs: http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/specs/amr70/
Apparently, I can get 40 watts out of them, and I would like to use them like we use our RM series and the PW sub through the receiver.
The odd thing is, there is absolutely no way to connect these speakers without the sub, because the sub has the amp. Actually, the left speaker has the cable where I can connect it as a regular speaker .
Does anybody know if I can connect this to a receiver??
One more thing, it takes a 3mm headphone jack/computer audio jack input. (which would be the reason for this whole post)...

What about getting an adapter and running it off the headphone jack?"Don't forget to change your politician. They are like diapers they need to be changed regularly, and for the same reason."

Yeah, that was what I figured I would do, but I ran the left speaker through our amp and it sounds awesome!! ...
So yeah, that's what Im gonna do...
Yah think I'm a loose any sound quality doing that though?? Like I won't get true 2.1 surround off of DVD's right? -
THAT I don't know. Maybe someone else could chime in on that."Don't forget to change your politician. They are like diapers they need to be changed regularly, and for the same reason."

When I run these speakers through the headphone jack, I will only get the volume up to where it is on my speaker, right?
I.E. If I have the volume up to half on the right speaker, I can only use the receiver/amp to get the volume up to half, right? Or will I be able to get the volume running w/o the amp volume on the sub... -
Ok, instead of newb questions, here's a real question...
I have the root cables for all the speakers, I had to take apart the connection board, but now I have the actual red+black connectors...
How do I know how much I can put into these speakers in watts? If I use an amp will I blow these speakers, or should they be alright if I just keep the volume low?
