Anyone have a thought on these? Do they make home theater equipment look and sound better? I have good surge protectors, would it be a good idea to invest in something that filters out the 'bad' power?

Try to demo one before making any purchases.

Test it on the tv first. If it does anything it will show up there.

Definitely worth the purchase. Panamax makes some real nice ones. Also I recommend buying these off Audiogon since you can find the best deals on these there. I bought a Monster 7000 MKII for like 500 bucks, so some good deals are over there.

I also have a Belkin PF 60, and I just added (for the flat screen) an APC H10. The APC H10, or upgrade H15 provide Automatic Voltage Regulation, which unfortunately the Belkin does not. The sensitive electronics are hooked to the APC, the Belkin handles the amps. Both can be had online with some careful shopping at around 200-225. Good luck.

For surge protection and possible line noise associated furnaces, microwave ovens less than $100 needs to be spent. Furman, Tripplite etc all make fine units.
Anything over that, your wasting money or you have a serious problem that needs to be dealt with by local utility people.

For complete power conditioning where you can yield silky smooth, full bodied sound along with rich deep colors etc. Place a bottle of Pert+ around your incoming electrical line!!

I was considering the CPC unit advertised on Audiogon for $299. I would use it for my entire HT. The 2CH would have a separate one.

I found that my Belkin PF60 helped more with video than it did with sound. I like it though.

I can't vouch for sound other than my system when previously hooked up to my Panamax was dead quiet, but I have noticed that my Sony TV is much sharper than a friend who has a similar model. Mine looks better and sharper than the same sets in the store. I have never adjusted anything on the set, so I attribute it to cleaner power.

I just picked up a Belkin PureAV PF60 and a Belkin PureAV AP30800 battery backup with AVR.

The PF60 is responsible for protecting our three Sony ES amps and the STR-DA9000ES.

The AP30800 with AVR is handling the chores of the television, DVR, DVD changer, CD changer and wireless AP's.

Definitely noticed a difference after hooking everything into these units.

The price was insane too. I bought over $1000 worth of brand new belkin power conditioning for less than $300!

I picked up the PureAV PF60 from Ebay for $182

I picked up the PureAV AP30800 UPS/AVR for $125 on Ebay as well. Vendor had a bunch left as of yesterday.

Ok, so it's a couple dollars over $300 but still a hell of a deal considering the local Fry's sells both for $499 and $299 respectively, plus TAX!
