To buy or skip Frys extended warranty on Polk Speakers?

I bought 5 year contracts on polk purchases I made at frys (since they were on clearance so it was an extra 10 dollars to covery rti8 and fxi3). But I was curious what everyone thinks about buying extended warranty at frys.

Since speakers generally lasts for long time, are extended warranty contracts a waste of money? Has anyone claimed their extended warranty (for speakers) at frys before. What if one speaker blows out and the other doesnt. Do they replace only one (that would suck if they dont carry the matching speaker anymore). And I wonder if people actually try to self destruct speakers without physically damaging it in order to claim warranty:)

Agree. If it was like $30.00, then I'd say "Forget it".

The Polk warranty is 5 years, and their warranty support is good from my experience

Ed Zachry, why bother with anything 'extra' from Fry's - you just threw your money away, even if only $10 at a time.

I can still return my 10 dollar warranty and get myself two lattes at starbucks hahah but in the case something does go wrong,I guess I would save myself shipping charges to Polk HQ. Instead, I could just take it to Frys for an exchange / replacement.

When I fried my tweeters in my SRS-SDA 3.1TL's... Polk sent me a replacement set under warranty - no problem at all. I would go for the double latte at Starbucks!
