I'm looking for a cheap-o 2-channel receiver, I need one for my tool shed rig.

how cheap is cheap - you can grab one of the refurb HK units on harmanaudio.com for fairly cheap, and IMO that's the best 2 channel you can buy 'new' for under a few hundred...

Go to your local Radio Shack and pick up one of these Sherwood stereo receivers. I got mine on Black Friday for $70.00. -
HK 3480's can be had for $150 new. Can't see anything beating that for a new receiver / amp.Stereo Rig: Hales Revelation 3, Musical Fidelity CD-Pre 24, Forte Model 3 amp, Lexicon RT-10 SACD, MMF-5 w/speedbox, Forte Model 2 Phono Pre, Cardas Crosslink, APC H15, URC MX-950, Lovan Stand
Bedroom: Samsung HPR-4252, Toshiba HD-A2, HK 3480, Signal Cable, AQ speaker cable, Totem Dreamcatchers, SVS PB10-NSD, URC MX-850 -
I have a Yamaha RX-395 that is ten years old, and we're not using it. We paid MSRP ($250) for it, believe it or not (has anyone else on this forum EVER paid MSRP for ANYTHING?!). You could probably have that if you liked ... and offered what could be considered a fair price (I think you're almost local to me, so no shipping needed). We still have the manual and all accessories and I don't think it has a single scratch or dent. It's a little bit of a pity to separate it from the matching CD player though, since the receiver remote controls that also (without having to use the CD player's own remote).

These have sentimental value and were purchased at the same time as our first Polk Audio speakers, the amazing little MiniMonitors! Let me know if you have any interest.Alea jacta est! -
Have you looked at CraigsList? That's where I found my receiver (Carver HR-752 @ 100 WPC).

Those Sherwoods appear to sport some pretty high distortion figures. Anybody can hear .9%. I'd pass on that all day long.
Hit those thrifts and pick up something for $10 or $15 Ron, or go get that Yamaha. It'll do. -

PM'd bro.
Guess I could have been a bit more clear, something in the less-then $50, used, beat-up, el'cheap-o. It's just something to power some rock speakers for the backyard.
I had a nice Sony but gave it to my neighbor for his livingroom theater. He's on a tight budget and his boss gave him a nice widescreen TV and I couldn't just sit back and have him listen to TV speakers.If...
