Well, my color swatches for the ATS panels have shipped. Gonna do some room treatments as part of my painting and decorating in the living and dining areas.

I will be interested in what they are like. I think room treatments are the next on the list for me also. I will diy them most likely. I googled ats and got nothing. Go GIK or go home.

I've got a few of them myself (3-2x2x4" & 1-2x4x4") along with panels from other manuf. Great stuff, well built & look great. You should notice a difference in your room sound for the better. Once you see & hear how well they work you need to keep going. Remember, a well treated room is the best upgrade you can do."2 Channel & 11.2 HT "Two Channel:Magnepan LRSSchiit Audio Freya S - SS preConsonance Ref 50 - Tube preParasound HALO A21+ 2 channel ampBluesound NODE 2i streameriFi NEO iDSD DAC Oppo BDP-93KEF KC62 sub Home Theater:Full blown 11.2 set up.

ATS may be great, but they don't seem to post any complete testing results. Take a look at the testing.

GIK

GIK shows complete testing results. ATS doesn't. For a few extra bucks, you may be getting quite a better product. Just my 2 cents. I by no means am saying ATS is bad. I am just saying you may be able to do better. Options are good.

ATS & GIK are both excellent products. You can't go wrong with either. At the time I made my purchase ATS had a much better fabric selection than GIK. That in itself was the deciding factor. I've since purchased a GIK Monster bass trap (2x4x6") & also Echo Buster products & a few Aurelex products. My next move is going to be these guys: http://www.realtraps.com/diffusor.htm.
It's an accumulative effect, the more you do, the sound just keeps on getting better & better. And, don't worry, it's almost impossible to overtreat a room."2 Channel & 11.2 HT "Two Channel:Magnepan LRSSchiit Audio Freya S - SS preConsonance Ref 50 - Tube preParasound HALO A21+ 2 channel ampBluesound NODE 2i streameriFi NEO iDSD DAC Oppo BDP-93KEF KC62 sub Home Theater:Full blown 11.2 set up. -

Thanks for the GIK info. Good stuff, but almost 50% more per equivalent panel adds up quickly, plus there are 2' x 2' options available at ATS that wouldn't be custom.
The Real Trap mentioned by Phil and Darla are nice too, but even more pricey.
I'm gonna stick with ATS for now, but I'm very interested in the GIK Tri-Traps and Diffusers in the future. I think the Diffusers would be pretty neat and effective on the ceiling!

The ATS panels should be just as effective as the GIK or Real Traps of the same thickness and they have lots of colour options.Testing
