I'm just getting into this vinyl game and based off what quite a few members on the forum said as well as other sites to go with sleeves similiar to rice paper. MFSL came up as one of the top names to go with.
http://www.elusivedisc.com/prodinfo.asp?number=MFSL-RICE
Buy 2 or more packs and pay only $17.50 each!
Buy 4 or more packs and pay only $16.50 each!!
Buy 20 or more packs and pay only $15.00 each!!!
I ordered 5 packs for $82.50 and you can use coupon code NEWWEB to get free shipping. Seems that most sites want $20-$25 + shipping for a pack of 50 of these so this is definately a great deal if you need to order a large quantity.

Dang, wish I'd seen this a month ago. Paid MOFI $40+shipping for two packs. This is a good deal, and the sleeves are the best I've found.

Yep, I just bought some last week, doh!"He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

I like the Acoustic Sounds record sleeves but looked on their website for a link to post and don't see them anymore. They seem to come and go.
madmaxVinyl, the final frontier...

I've tried all kinds of inner sleeves and the MFSL inner sleeves are IMHO the tops in that category. These things are so good that in the 1000 records that were damaged by water and mold the records that had the MFSL sleeves were undamaged.
They work so well because they keep your records pristine while inserting, storing or extracting the LP. If you've ever noticed that with other inner sleeves when you extract the LP there is all kinds of dust and paper bits on them as well as the static build up is so high that when removing the LP and placing it on a platter it is attracting every know contaminant to mankind. -

I have MFSL LP's so I know what you mean, but the sleeves I use are full poly lined and the LP's come out as clean as they were inserted. Static is not an issue either, though I do control the humidity in the house. The only static problem I have is when an LP comes out of the flattener.Salk SoundScape 8's * Audio Research Reference 3 * Bottlehead Eros Phono * Park's Audio Budgie SUT * Krell KSA-250 * Harmonic Technology Pro 9+ * Signature Series Sonore Music Server w/Deux PS * Roon * Gustard R26 DAC / Singxer SU-6 DDC * Heavy Plinth Lenco L75 Idler Drive * AA MG-1 Linear Air Bearing Arm * AT33PTG/II & Denon 103R * Richard Gray 600S * NHT B-12d subs * GIK Acoustic Treatments * Sennheiser HD650 * -
How many people on here use outer sleeves around the jackets as well as the inner sleeves?
-
I do but they are loosely fitting non-static very thick plastic.

I know you do! I'm suprised you don't have little elves that take care of your vinyl collection while you aren't home.
How hard is to slide albums off the shelf when they are in those outer plastic jackets? -
I put my LPs, jackets and all into the outer sleeve with the opening of the sleeve facing up.
-
Pictures of how you store your albums? not following.....

If you want to preserve your LP jackets, use jacket covers.
Insert jacket and LP in sleeve outside of jacket into the jacket cover to prevent ring wear of jacket. Close flap, if you use resealable sleeves. This does expose the LP so you must use caution when storing/handling.Salk SoundScape 8's * Audio Research Reference 3 * Bottlehead Eros Phono * Park's Audio Budgie SUT * Krell KSA-250 * Harmonic Technology Pro 9+ * Signature Series Sonore Music Server w/Deux PS * Roon * Gustard R26 DAC / Singxer SU-6 DDC * Heavy Plinth Lenco L75 Idler Drive * AA MG-1 Linear Air Bearing Arm * AT33PTG/II & Denon 103R * Richard Gray 600S * NHT B-12d subs * GIK Acoustic Treatments * Sennheiser HD650 * -
Mine are on a shelf, so you think I will have any issues removing and sliding back in albums with jacket covers? I don't like the idea of the vinyl outside the jacket so I will slide the MFSL sleeve into the jacket, then put the jacket into one of the outer sleeves, provided that it doesn't hinder sliding them in and out of the shelf.

Nope. Antny is supposed to build me shelves for my LPs -

Go with what you are comfortable with. I get the 12 & 3/4" outer jacket covers as the 12 & 5/8" can be tight on single LP's and are difficult or impossible to slip on or off doubles without tearing.Salk SoundScape 8's * Audio Research Reference 3 * Bottlehead Eros Phono * Park's Audio Budgie SUT * Krell KSA-250 * Harmonic Technology Pro 9+ * Signature Series Sonore Music Server w/Deux PS * Roon * Gustard R26 DAC / Singxer SU-6 DDC * Heavy Plinth Lenco L75 Idler Drive * AA MG-1 Linear Air Bearing Arm * AT33PTG/II & Denon 103R * Richard Gray 600S * NHT B-12d subs * GIK Acoustic Treatments * Sennheiser HD650 * -
Yea, I'll get some samples and see what i can do. Thanks

Reminds me of that mail order doll you were talking about the other day..............

I, too, use the MOFI poly sleeves. Recently ran ut and ordered some poly lined sleeves from KAB. Not as good as the MOFI IMHO. I, also, use jacket liners - 2.5 mil. I always slide my LP cover in from the top of the jacket to help keep dust & particles from entering the LP cover[

Here is what the mofi sleeves look like. No doubt they are nicer and I'll get some once I deplete my current stock.Salk SoundScape 8's * Audio Research Reference 3 * Bottlehead Eros Phono * Park's Audio Budgie SUT * Krell KSA-250 * Harmonic Technology Pro 9+ * Signature Series Sonore Music Server w/Deux PS * Roon * Gustard R26 DAC / Singxer SU-6 DDC * Heavy Plinth Lenco L75 Idler Drive * AA MG-1 Linear Air Bearing Arm * AT33PTG/II & Denon 103R * Richard Gray 600S * NHT B-12d subs * GIK Acoustic Treatments * Sennheiser HD650 *

Mobile Fidelity Master Sleeves - These are the same high-quality inner sleeves used by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab for their vinyl releases. They are imported, three-ply, anti-static, premium sleeves (similar to rice paper) and work with both LPs and laser discs. Back construction consists of a paper layer sandwiched between two sheets of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) with a translucent HDPE front. This equals or surpasses the discontinued VRP inner sleeves. Sold in packs of 50. Item No. 312INMOFI. Get a sample for only a penny!
Exact same ones listed at the top of this page but cheaper AND free shipping. -

IMHO, the MFSL sleeve are the best on the market. -
Joe what do you think about those outer sleeves I linked?

2 mil, polythylene, etc.....look good right? -
Looks like a good deal on the outer sleeves, I'll have to get me some of those. I like the sleeves with a flap in theory, but every one I've gotten on a MFSL album tears at a corner eventually.
