WOW! I've never seen a movie on Rotten Tomatoes not get a single positive vote. All 51 current votes say it sucks. Usually someone will give it a thumbs up. Not this time! I'm pretty sure I'll pass on it.

That doesn't surprise me. Even the preview was replete with suckiosity.

Remakes of Japanese horror films are almost never good. The original One Missed Call wasn't all that great to begin with IMHO, so remaking it for an American audience probably wasn't the best choice. Plus, from the previews, it looks like they've changed a lot of the story.

Well after The Ring success all of a sudden we saw this influx of remakes. The Ring is the only good one IMHO that really made the transfer to American screens.

Agreed. The Ring is the only one that I felt expanded on the original and actually ended up being a more cohesive movie. It's a shame they had to veer off the plot of the originals when they did the sequel... though not as much of a shame as that bad CGI deer attack scene!

I haven't seen the Ring since I saw it at the theater a few years ago, and I don't plan on seeing it any time soon. That girl crawling out of the TV was just to much for me.

The Departed was a direct remake of Infernal Affairs. It won an Oscar so I guess there's motivation there.

Despite the great performances, let's face it... The Departed won an Oscar because Scorsese was due. Infernal Affairs was so much deeper than The Departed, and I think the movie really missed some of the nuances of the original.
