want to do sub in rear deck -- not sure though.

I've been bashing around the idea of redoing the shizzy in my girl's subaru for a while...
My question is...
if I cut a hole in the rear deck and then build an mdf sealed enclosure under the deck (trunk) and bolt it up to the deck and then cut a piece of birch plywood and attach that to the top of hte deck so its smooth and makes a good seal with the box suspended into the trunk... will a momo 10 sound allright firing up at the rear window (98 subaru impreza 2.5 RS coupe)????
and will the 10" momo take 25% more power than its rated at like the 12" does??? ((around here nobody's got the 10's in stock to demo --- not even circuit city around here yet -- just hte 12-- bu thte 12 wont fit in the deck))
I wanted to do one massive subwoofer, something like I've got in my truck, but I don't feel safe hanging 45 pounds of subwoofer in addition to thebox material and other junk from that deck.. its thin gauge sheetmetal.
I'm worried that cutting into the deck will decrease the car's stability as many poeple have told me that the deck in the subaru is part of the rear support frame and that it keeps the car from acting all jerky.
any thoughts, ideas, whatever would be greatly appreciated -- i'm tryin to get all the ideas i can together before i hack away at this thing in teh spring.

I dont see an issue if you are only cutting a circle out (not splitting the back deck)..and the sub being attatched will re-add integrity...besides..you said yourself..its flimsy thin metal.
If your worried about stress on the back deck..you can always support the enclosure to the trunk floor..I've seen it done that way many times...Putting a sub on the back deck is more common than you think it is actualy
good luck vinnie...I say go for it...but why a momo??? hehe -
only reason i chose the momo is that i need a 10 inch sub that'll do 500 watts ... now more power would be great, but see i only have 445 to push the sub with..period... i dont have money to get another amp.
even if i had money -- my girlfriend put a limit on me... she said i cannot draw more than 60 amps of current on her piddily little **** alternator... no batt mods.. nothing..she wants it all left alone.. so i'm stuck with no bigger than a 450 watt amp on the sub if i wanna keep 65 x 4 on the highs.
i dont know of anything that'll take 450 / 500 better than the momo -- i told u i dumped 650 on that 12 momo and it didn't miss a beat.
i wish the dx's were that good, i would have kept them..lol.The Artist formerly known as PoweredByDodge -
