RM6880-Onkyo 605 Audyssey Setup

This might be a dumb question, but here goes . . .
I setup the RM6880 set of speakers including the included subwoofer the "Polk Way" recommended in the instructions. When I ran the Audyssey setup, it did not detect the sub. However, when I play a Blu-Ray movie, the sub is obviously very involved and sounds pretty good.
Should the Audyssey have detected the sub (I did turn the volume of sub up already)?
If so, any recommendations for further setup?
Is my ear too untrained to tell the difference?

Welcome to the forum.
If you have it set up the 'Polk way', just make sure on your rcvr 'set up' menu you have the sub set to 'no/off'. You make the vol./Hz adjustments on the back of the sub.
The rcvr will not see the sub unless you wire the fronts directly & use the sub-out ch. connection with an RCA cable.
You can change it back & forth to determine what sounds best to YOU:D
Good luck & have funI refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE! -

The Polk way, the auto callibration will not detect the subs because, the way you have the sub hooked up, being you went the Polk way, there is no sub to be found. The fronts would be read as very large speakers.Monitor 7b's front

Thanks guys.
My Fronts are set to 100MHz (large) and Sub is set to None.
I thought it sounded too good to be completely incorrect.
