The player is less than a year old and has been boxed up for the last 3 months. It has about 75 hours of play time on it. The unit is in pristine condition and silver in color. I have the manual, power cable, remote, and will throw in a 2m Audioquest HDMI-X HDMI to DVI. Asking price is $225 plus shipping and paypal fees. Any questions or for pics PM me.

This is an excellent DVD player, with much of the same video quality as the 540D V2. As a universal player, it does well with DVD-A and SACD. Changing out the stock power cord to an aftermarket cord tightens up the bass, and improves a few other video qualities as well. Stock sound quaility is good, but not quite up to the 640C. It might be a little better than the 340C, but I haven't done a direct comparison. BTW, this is a true universal player, as it is also region free. If nobody else wants this, at the good price that it is, I might pick it up.

That's a sick price for a very nice piece of gear.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I know, if it was black, I would have bought it. :(

If this was black, I'd grab it for SACD alone.

Sorry to anyone who thought Jeff was slighting them. I bought it and asked him to keep it to himself. I decided to go to an all in one and I'm very happy I did so far. CD play is excellent but I haven't tried a DVD yet but I'm guessing I won't be disappointed.

I'll give a full review once I get to spend a little more time with it but don't blame Jeff for not getting back to you. Great Polkie and would definitely deal with again without hesitation.

Congrats! It's an excellent player. If you haven't already, I would recommend upgrading the firmware. It helps with reading problems on some discs.

For those of you that are thinking about getting a DVD89, I beleive it is about be discontinued(according to my rep), in favor of the new 540D. There will probably be a few available for the next 3-6 months, but they will probably become more rare after that. I'll be placing my final order this week for local stock, and I'm sure other dealers will be doing the same.

Cambridge would like to keep with the Azur badging and quality for the DVD players. The 540D v2 is a great performer, but doesn't have the SACD/DVD-A capabilities. There are talks of a 640D, with those capabilities built back in, but I don't think there is anything definite yet.

Again, this is a great player, and even at the $299 price, it was a good deal.

Apparently, I there was a change in plans(which I was told at cedia last fall), and they are going to keep an entry level player in the U.S. market. They are discontinuing the dvd89, and will eventually introduce the DVD99 here. They weren't sure on the U.S. release date, but I'm guessing it will be here by mid summer/early fall.
