I have a pioneer plasma tv and an Onkyo 703 reciever and am now ready to purchase speakers. I am the type guy who hates to upgrade. I like to research and buy right the first time. I am interested in the rti line of speakers, but the problem is I live in Memphis and there is nowhere close to go and demo them. That would solve alot of my problem. The only thing I was able to do was listen to some of the monitor series at circuit city.

I have been debating first between the rti8 vs. 10. At Circuit City I listened to the Monitor 70, CS2, Polk sub, with Onkyo 705 against Monitor 50, CS1, Velodyn sub, with Onkyo 805. They both sounded good but to me the Monitor 50/CS1 sounded a little clearer and crisper which I preferred. It could have been the difference in the recievers. Ever since I have been thinking that I might be better off with the rti8s. I want this setup to be the ultimate in clarity, no muffled sound, no distortion. I will be using it for HT and also music, but I believe I prefer music coming from all the speakers and don't expect to be 2 channel listening.

With the sale at Fry's I feel I need to go ahead and purchase. I called today and they don't have the free sub promotion with $500.00 purchase. I will first be purchasing Rti 8 or 10s from frys. Then in a week or two purchase the CSI A4 or A6 center along with sub from cruthfield. I will wait on the rears. I would appreciate any suggestions on the 8s vs. 10s, A4 vs. A6 or sub recommendations. Thanks in advance.
