Those things might lead to buying upline, but even if they don't, so what? Those things delivered to the house for $550/30 days no questions asked return policy is a no-brainer for anybody that's afraid to buy used. Those things will be plenty of speaker for a lot of buyers, and with the addition of a sub will be plenty speaker for EVEN MORE people that buy them.

When Dean lived three doors down he had two pair of those with a small sub (no center channel) that I'll be damned if I can remember the name of. It sounded outstanding on just music in his room. It would've sounded better if he could've pulled the front speakers out a little from the wall, but that was not possible. Great little speakers. He drove them with some kind of 5 channel Rotel amp with a ritzy HT receiver as a pre. No tv or movie stuff in that room though.

Agree with George. For 550 on the new market, you can't buy better sound.

Bass is different with a planar speaker than a cone speaker. You get the depth but it doesn't have the same impact in the low frequencies. However, I find that what low bass may lack in ultimate impact it more than makes up for in terms of coherence and definition.

I'd look at the Eminent Technology LFT-8b. It blew away my 1.6 QRs when I had them side by side.

You speak the truth friend. Had a pair, wish I still did, and plan to again soon.

Well, I would hope so being the LFT has a street price about 50% greater than the 1.6, they ought to sound better. I'll definately keep an eye out for the LFT, I'd like to get my ears on a set.
There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. Nine-tenths of the rights he bellows for are really privileges and he does nothing to deserve them. We not only acquired a vast population of morons, we have inculcated all morons, old or young, with the doctrine that the decent and industrious people of the country are bound to support them for all time.-Menkin
