    No.

The SR's are the best line Polk has ever come out with.

I hope theyre not getting rid of the Momo line. I know a lot of "purists" poo-pooed that line but I always thought they rocked. Not only did they sound and perform excellent but they looked cool as hell as well. Maybe its because I associate Momo more with Ferrari rather than rice.

The MM stuff is the new mobile monitor line. It will slowly be phasing out the MOMO stuff. Does he have any pictures of the GT 500 (old school), I have a few pictures I took of it but I dont want to look through all his pages on this slow **** wireless connection. If not, I'll post some pics up tonight. One of the best looking cars here at CES.

I just checked through and he has more pictures. I saw some new Dyn stuff as well as Eclipse gear, but not the GT500.

By the way, Eclipse came out with what looks to be a nice SQ unit, the CD7200 mkII. I like how they went back to the vacuum fluorescent display. Problem is that they kept the same button layout from the CD7000/CD7100. All the SQ options, PEQ, time alignment, x-over, & 8v preouts. They added a copper chassis, and it's also a dead head. Had the control layout been improved, I would be all over this HU :(.

im sure if u ask an installer.... like i have in the past they tell me that if u hold an eclipse u can really tell that its quality stuff. eclipse is fujitsu 10 and at one time Sony executives wanted only fujitsu 10 stereos in their cars... .they can have anything in the world.... thats gotta tell u something...

The top offerings from Eclipse have been better than Alpine for a while as far as SQ goes. Will they eat your CDA-9887, probably not. I've had the top three units from Eclipse before the CD7100....the CD8454, CD8455, and the CD7000. I say this because when it comes to tuning these HU's have been more flexible than their Alpine counterparts. I would have to say though, that ease of use has to go to Alpine. In recent years I've had a couple of CDA-7998's, a CDA-9835, and now the CDA-9887. I believe that ease of use in a moving vehicle is a very important thing, reason I went back to Alpine. Had this new unit from Eclipse not had the same control layout as the CD7000, I would pick one up as soon as they would become available.

The 9887 is a nice HU and I highly recommend it. I will be using the Imprint kit with it very soon.

yeah im also looking for the imprint module, i cant wait to have it, and that should be a big difference, but since i recently buy the SR Sub and the PDX-1.1000 amp i will be a little short of money for a few months.

when you buy it, please tell us what do you think about it.

Polkfest is a once a year get-together for forum members. Usually its at a member's house but every once in a while Polk opens up its HQ to us bozos and gives us tours of the facility and demos of new and current gear. Its just about the coolest thing Ive ever done. The last one was September 2005 which was an absolute blast. This years Polkfest is going to be held at Polk HQ I believe.
