I just emailed the guy today about getting me a list of stuff. This what he emailed back.
Nick,
I've got too much to list. Some nice stuff. High end and all.
I've got an extra high end Preamp. The new McAlister preamp. Custom built for me. $1,600 and it's just a few months old. Make fair offer, I don't need it as I'm running MC75's and Mx110 pre now. McAlister has One of the best phono sections around in it, new, high end tubes, custom made face, new knobs, basically Peter's best effort plus nice cosmetics and tubes I went the extra mile with.
Kick **** Infinity SM120 speakers I just refoamed, like new, Nice standard sonance amp, 100wpc, like new, cdp's, just bunches. I could take an hour or more.
Harry
I don't know what any of this stuff is and I am afraid I won't know what a lot of his other stuff is either.:o I going to take a little extra coin just in case. Does anything on this list have any interst to anybody here.
Let me know and if I can swing I will pick it up for you. I will be going there this saturday. -
wow.. how much stuff do you have to have for it to be to much to list? crazy old geezer.
I keep a list on my computer in Word form.. then as I buy or sell things off.. i add or delete it from the list.. that way I always know what crap I have at any given time.
People this ain't that tough. That's just one of my pet peeves.. PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

When I get the pictures I will post them here and see if anyboudy wants anything. -
Well.... I went and picked them up today. I am very happy with my purchase to say the least.:D There in even better condition than I expected. Well...... There MINT except for the bases which need a little TLC but not much. He also had the original owner on the phone when I got there and the guy was telling me all about where he bought them(hi-fi buys in indianapolis) and how long he had them and the reason for selling them and so on.... Any way they sound GREAT. I can't wait to get some better gear in here to see what they really sound like. So far with the vintage sony receiver powering them they sound much better the my rt800i's. They are very impressive to say the least. The thing I most impressed with is there highs and lows. The peerless tweeter sounds amazing. I am quite fascinated by the way the mid range driver and passive radiator work together to produce some of the cleanest bass I have ever heard. I recommend a pair for every polk enthusiasts.:D
Best $95.00 I ever spent.:)
Here are the pics.

atta boy! now that is one nice vintage system you got going there... for some odd reason, a vintage receiver powering vintage speakers. just works doesn't it? I can't explain it.. but I had a Sansui 7070DB hooked up the my Mon 7B's one time, and it was pure magic..
good going man. enjoy!PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

Dead Sexy! See, running was a good thing.;)
Looks good, buddy! -
The guy that had them must have been a chain smoker because they reek. Is there any easy way to get rif og te smell???
-
Did you wipe them down yet? You can use windex even on the woofer and passive radiator."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

I soaked them in windex and you could see the nicotine running down them. I had a yellow rag when I got done. The smell has weakened but I think I am going to do it on more time and see if gets any better.

Great buy. You got a good deal. I paid over $200 with shipping and don't regret it one bit. Mine have gone through progressively more powerful amps and have handled every one just fine. They are currently on a Carver PM-175 with an Adcom GFP-555II pre. Totally clean and beautiful. I have tried a Harman Kardon 330c on them and the combination was very sweet.
