hey guys, just finished this order online, let me know what you think:

Fronts RTi8 black
Center CSi3 black
Rear RTi6 black
Surround RTi4 white
Sub DSW PRO 600

Since I'm from Europe I think this is an exceptionally good deal, with the low dollar. Only the sub will set you back $1000 here... And now I have the complete set for $1400 including shipping and taxes.
The thing is, I'm still looking for a proper receiver to go with this set, any recommendations? Same for the speaker cables.

welcome to Club Polk and congrats on your new setup, that is a good deal. For an AVR, I'd start out with Harman Kardon, then move up to something like Outlaw or B&K. As for speaker cables, imo that doesn't really matter. Just stick with a 16 gauge or lower.

signal cable(www.signalcable.com) or Blue Jeans(www.bluejeanscable.com) are very nice cables at a great price. If its not too late try to go for the CSi5 instead of the 3, its a much better center. Other than that, try a Pioneer Elite, Denon, HK805, are all great.

Thanks for the warm welcome and the tips.

Back here everyone is really enthousiastic about the Onkyo TX-SR605, because of the value for money. I don't know how it sounds though, but I can imagine I need a warm sounding receiver to go with the Polk's bright sound.

What I'd also like to know what amout of amplifying power in the receiver I should be looking for. I know the Polk site says anything from 20W up, but such a low amount doesn't sound sensible to me. All I want is to get full potential out of my speaker set.

Welcome to the forum. The question concerning amplification power has been asked on many a thread. Try the "search" function and get your read on. Trust me, there will be more information on that than you could read today.

Welcome to Club Polk. The only downside to the 605 (in my opinion) is that it does not offer pre-outs for all channels. That alone would make it worth upgrading to the 705 in my opinion.
    Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)
    Center............Polk LSiC (Crossover upgraded)
Surrounds.......Polk LSi7 (Gloss Black - wood sides removed and crossovers upgraded)
    Subwoofers.....SVS 25-31 CS+ and PC+ (both 20hz tune)
    Pre\Pro...........NAD T163 (Modded with LM4562 opamps)
    Amplifier.........Cinepro 3k6 (6-channel, 500wpc@4ohms)

I've been wondering around looking at A/V receivers. Now I think the Denon 1908 is a much better choice since it also has preouts. Even the Germans are enthousiastic about it ;)
I found out my room i'm in now is too small for the RTi8's to place properly. So I thought I might as well make it a 5.1 system for the time being. The only thing i was wondering; in case I move to a bigger place where i can use the RTi8's, is it a problem to add them later on to make it a 7.1, or will the sound be (and stay) different from the rest of the speakers?

Another option is to use the RTi 6's as fronts RTi 4's as rears. That leaves the RTi 8's for (maybe) a 2 ch setup. Will these still lack the bass if i choose to amp them up to approx 160w/ch?
Then there will be no possibility to pimp the sound with a subwoofer, since it is already with the 5.1, and if i'm correct, there's no more room on the receiver to make it power a second sub.... Help me out here guys.....

The RTi's are not considered the best of 2 channel speakers and, depending on your needs for 2 channel, you may be dissapointed with the RTi8's in a 2 channel setup.

The RTi6's are great speakers and I would not hesitate to use them as fronts in a home theater with a sub for support. (I use them without a sub for a small 2 channel home theater in the bedroom and enjoy them - my demands for home theater are much lower there though)

Why are the 8's not working in your room? To large, to loud, no where to put them?? What size room are you dealing with?

Edit - subwoofer can be used for 2nd channel, but pity keeps me from telling you how and giving you an easy way out. Do know, that it can be done though...
