Subwoofer Help?

I could use some assistance/advice on a decent sub for reasonable money. I can get:
PSW-12 (100 watt) for $169
Klipsch KSW-10 (225 watt) for $150
Both are new
With a 6 month old baby the "boss" doesn't feel that spending much $ on a sub that will just keep the baby awake is a very good idea. Should I spend the money now on one of these, or wait to spend a little more later when I can get her to part with more $?
Also a little advice on whether speaker size or wattage will produce more sound would be appreciated. I am really new/ignorant to home theater. My system is a patchwork of speakers being pushed by a 10+ year old Denon 5.1 reciever (AVR-810), but again, the only time that I can turn them up is when my wife and the baby are out of the house.
Thanks in advance for the advice.
