I don't even like to climb 2 flights of stairs!
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

    Wasn't a matter of IF....just a matter of WHEN.

Guys, a beginner in decent shape on a rope his first day could climb that. To an experienced climber that climb was as dangerous as climbing a staircase. (the speed was impressive, but it wasn't "that" dangerous) Now if he was pulling that crap on a 5.11a or higher, then he's a nutter. Oh wait, he has... (and that is why he's dead)

A lot of the crap he did is the scariest mistakes you can make climbing but he did it on purpose. Moron....

I thought he was climbing with great care despite his speed until he jumped up to a ledge with both hands free!

Nope. While free fall jumping, whatever that is.
He died on November 23, 1998 at the age of 35 after his rope failed while performing a "controlled free-fall" jump from the Leaning Tower rock formation in Yosemite National Park.

Actually, that's how my wife broke her leg Dec. 1 (20 ft wall rather than 400). Double coumpoud fracture just above the ankle... ;)

Again, just because someone could do it very easily doens't mean you should...

William: There are two ways that I'm aware of to do it, one is to have guy anchor you in and then fast belay the free fall, this is relatively safe and slow, the other is to just anchor the rope and jump and count on the stretch of the rope to keep you from breaking your neck. I've never seen either done in real life, nor would I want to. Just stories told at the rock.

BTW, here's some my climbing partners after a day climbing.....
