Looking for a phono preamp. Sub $80
I'll settle for a Pro-Ject MK2, Cambridge 540 or anything cheap like that.
Used and cheap is how I like them.....;)

Change of plans, I want it CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP.
If I decide to use my tax return for a table in the $800-$1k range I will buy the Jolida JD-9 phono stage, so for now to hold me over and use my old table a cheap one will suffice. -
Do you have nothing in the way of an MM preamp? I can spot you a receiver or something with a decent phono preamp, which you can use via the tape monitor loop to feed to a preamp, integrated, or power amp.

Check this one out, the Hagerman Technology Bugle. Not used, but one hell of a bargain for $139, shipped to your door. I just got one in kit form, learned how to solder and had it playing music in about 4 hours. There's a seller on Audiogon who sells the kit with all the necessary parts for $62.50. Great guy to deal with, super fast shipping. After I let it burn in a bit I sat down to listen and was blown away with the improvement over the phono stage in my Carver. My heart was racing, mouth agape, completely immersed in the music. Batteries are a double edged sword, however. Much quieter in my system, but I was reminded the hard way this evening to turn it off after use; left it on overnight and no juice today.Wristwatch--->Crisco

If you want a Bugle and don't want to solder, I'd be happy to build one up for you if you buy it in kit form :-)
The Bugle is an outstanding bargain. -
Scratch this idea, turns out the 2nd table I got(today) which was a Dual 1218 has a bad drive mechanism....damn thing won't stay turning.
I am not having luck with this vintage stuff. Soon as tax return comes a new table and preamp are going right on the AMEX. -
