Adding a second PSW 10 - Good or bad?

Hello,

I've recently moved into the world of Polk and so far am very impressed. I picked up an RM10 System which included a PSW 10 Sub. I've currently got the sub just to the right of my AV cabinet on the floor. Sound is very good but I do notice that I can localize the sub to the right side of the room probably due to the crossover being set at 100hz. One of the local retailers has the PSW 10 on sale for $132.00 and I am wondering if it would be worth it to add a second one to the left side. Does two subs create any problems? If I add the second sub do I calibrate them to be exctly the same?

Thanks,

No point in adding a second PSW10 for over $100, in my opinion.

I would think it much more prudent to try to get $100 for the one you already have, then trying to find a single sub in the $200 - $300 range. Will end up with much more bang for your buck that way.

Also, subs are fairly durable, so don't be afraid to check Audiogon, Craigslist, and Ebay to find one in good used condition. $200 - $300 can go a long way towards a nice used sub.

Good luck! Just my opinion. I had a PSW10 and traded it in promptly to put towards something more capable. It's a very mediocre entry-level sub, in my mind. Lot of better options for just a little more scrilla.
