Hey everyone,

I just got a Samsung monitor, 24", that I want to also use to watch movies in my bedroom. I currently use it to watch DVDs through my PC, but I would like to leave the PC out, because the fans are pretty loud. I already have a DVD player in the room that I use as a CD player for my stereo. The monitor has a DVI-d input, and VGA. My graphics card has both DVI and VGA out, so I can use either one for the DVD player. Can I adapt something from my existing player (read, component video) or do I need a different DVD player with DVI or HDMI out? And will either of these be compatible with DVI-d?

Here is a link to the monitor that I have.

Thanks again,
Alex

PS. And if there is no good way to make it work, can someone suggest a company that makes really quite computer fans?

i belive that you can get component to VGA cable and use a dvd player with component out and hook it up to ure monitor.

Also on newer Dvd players the HDMI outputs a digital and video signal and you could pass it through a audio receiver with hdmi inputs to break up the 2. then pass the video signal from the receiver hdmi out to the monitor dvi in using a hdmi to dvi cable..
I am not sure on the hdmi to dvi cable.. i use it the reverse way and pass a dvi signal out of my computer to the hdmi input on my tv.
