I was expecting my reciever to show yesterday and it didnt. I get the RTI A9's today thinking for sure the Yamaha would be here today, and again no show! Its tonight and a puddle of drool has developed on the floor by the door waiting for the Yammi to show and still......not here:( Can anyone else tell me how these sound till my gear gets here?

Either you have a short wife, or those are really tall speakers.:)

You can take some of your extra time and dust them off now. :p They should sound great. Looks like you have quite the theater room happening there can't wait to hear your review.

Forgot to clean the dust off them in my haste to take shots and get them set up in the front end. But I really would like to hear them now:)

She is short but they are surprisingly tall, wide, and deep (the speakers, not my wife). A very big speaker indeed.

I will be powering them with a 5 channel Sherbourn to see what they sound like on there own, but am mating them with dual Ultra cylinders. Wanna see if they hit that 18 hz with any kind of authority on there own.

I run LSi's, but I really like the sound of the RTi12s. The rounded features of the new "a" series are a nice touch. Congrats!
Do you hear that buzzing noise?

So they sound the same as the last series? Not trying to read into this more than there is, but yeah am curious. Have not heard the RTI 12's.

Congrats, give us a full review when you get it all dialed in. Those are great looking speakers. Love the drool on your wife's sleeve - is that from her admiring the speakers?

Ashamed to talk about the PJ, but its an old Infocus 4805 :( Will upgrade soon though. Sound has always been my thing, hence the delay on better display.

I used to have dual PB12+2's, and yes they were fantastic, knocked pictures off the walls upstairs.

    Sharp looking speakers.

You'll get past the drooling waiting for gear to show up stage as you get older. You'll know what I mean when you catch yourself on the phone with FedEx/UPS..whatever yelling at the person on the other end of the phone, where the fu(k are my speakers!?!

    Dude,

I want a pair of those just because they are pretty! Nice job Polk. The rounded design is gorgeous. I thought I was looking at some Signature Paradigms until I took a closer look.

I agree those are some nice looking speakers. The pictures on Polk home page don't do them justice. After looking at them on Polks home page I had no interest in them at all unitll I seen these pics. Can't wait to hear a review on the sound.

Very nice looking speakers. I audited the RtiA5 and A7, and the A7 sounds awesome. However, I got the Rti8 because the price is so much lower. 1 pair of RTI8 for the price of a RTI A7.

    Bring it mad man!

Just bi-amped the A9's and I am beyond impressed with the base output. Jephdood can attest to my thirst for extreme base and for me to say that about a stand alone pair doing justice to the bottom end says something. The flip scene in Transformers was the test. The A9's powered with a beefy amp past the test no problem, one could get away without using a sub using the A9's.

    VERY impressive!

Oh yeah, using the Marantz 7002 as a pre amp. Marantz pre outs are 2 volts, very good for running a seperate amp.

Not sure if that was a question for me or not, but I have not owned the 12's so cant really say. I have owned the RT 55i's, the RTI 10's, and now the A 9's but that is it for Polk.
