Joe Bonamassa has several acoustic cuts on his newest CD, Sloe Gin. There is another CD with a song named "Faux Mantini" which is an acoustic solo, it is unreal how good this guy can play a guitar.

    Muddy Waters - Folk Singer

Recorded around 1963-4 and has some background noise, but the recording has a ton of dynamics and intimacy (especially Muddy's vocals) and also has a lot of room ambience and a 3-D soundstage. Buddy Guy plays on it too. It's available on CD, SACD, and DVD-A.

+1 on Buddy Guy Blues's Singer, Junior Wells Come on in this House and Doug Macleod.

Buddy Guy and Junior Wells- Alone & Acoustic

The classic pairing of Buddy Guy and Junior Wells has been captured many times on vinyl, cassette, and disc over the years, but rarely with such intimacy and subtle, restrained energy as on this wonderful collection. Buddy Guy plays mostly 12 string guitar, and Junior laces his signature lines through the songs, engaging Guy in the kind of musical dialogue that only old friends can have. This is acoustic street-corner blues at its best, performed with incredible expressiveness, ease, and joy. One gets the feeling these two are just sitting down for a friendly jam session on a Saturday afternoon, and when things get loose, their laughter flows almost as freely as the music. Guy really shines on some of these tracks, his guitar lines fast, smooth, percussive, and seemingly effortless. Wells, always tasteful, plays counterpoint to Guy in the classic style and sings with honesty and conviction. What resulted is some absolutely fantastic music.

Warren Haynes Christmas Benefit albums (there are 2) both have some great acoustic blues. The second one being the best, Haynes and John Popper do several songs there that are really good, with Haynes on his resonator & Popper on his 12 string.

Here is an interesting one for you:

    Anders Osborne: Coming Down

It's been a while since I listened to the whole thing, but since it is New Orleans style blues, lyrics can become quite colorful and it can get "R" rated.

    Another addition to this:

    Rory Block: From The Dust

An excellent recording, she plays mostly a resonator for most of this. Gospel-infused blues.

Sonny Landreth: Levee Town & South Of I-10.

A few great acoustic resonator cuts in there. This guy is incredible. If he is not the best guitar player there is today, I want to know who the hell is. Just unbelievable.

I haven't actually heard this one, but I have ordered it and I am looking forward to checking it out:

    Otis Taylor: Rediscovering The Banjo

Black man playing the blues on a banjo. Should be interesting, from what I hear, he is quite good.

Rory Gallagher does tons of acoustic sets in his live stuff. Just goggle him if you havent heard of him. Hes in my top 5 blues/blues rock Guitarists. Hes got tons of stuff out there. I reccommend this DVD for overall sound / pic quality. Double disc.

    http://www.amazon.com/Rory-Gallagher-Live-at-Montreux/dp/B000FG65TE

This one is 4 disc and hours of enjoyment. Actually took me a whole weekend to watch when i first got it. Sound quality isnt as great as the Montreux but still worth having. BTW he has more Acoustic in this one.

    Hello,
There's some excellent sounding acoustic blues available on the Mapleshade label. If you want to hear live sounding musicians right in your listening room this label can't be beat.
    Cheers, Ken
