Klipsch RF82 and AMP
Hi Guys,
I am new to this forum and was wondering if someone could give me some advice.
I am after some RF82 Klipsch speakers. I has a listen and they sound pretty good. However I have no idea about home theatre or 2 channel amp's. The first store I went to said the Denon avr 2307 would do the trick. I thought i sounded pretty good.
Then the next place said the harmon kardon avr 245 was ok. Well they said that I could pick up the floor stock for 2500 AU, amp and speakers.
The thing is are there better amps out there that would go with these speakers? Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I'm suprised no one has weighed in on this yet.
First of all, the store is confusing (or trying to confuse you) on what an amp is. The "Receivers" they are trying to sell you are not stand alone (aka seperate) amps. While both of those brands are fine brands, and should make your 82's sound good, you'll probably come away with improved fidelity with a stand alone amp. Going this route will cost extra money: you'll have to buy an amp and a processor/receiver instead of just the receiver.
Anyways, some good amp manufacturers include (but are not limited to):
Online - Outlaw, Emotiva
Specialty Shops - Rotel, Carver, Sunfire, Parasound
Used - Many members here would recommend checking out websites like Audiogon or this website for used gear at a fraction of the price.
Hoope that helps!Do you hear that buzzing noise? -
Anyone else know if this is good stuff?

If you're looking for 2 channel playback, your Klipsch would probably be better served with a tube amp. Klipsch are generally pretty efficent. I would look for something in lines of the following.
http://www.jolida.com/catalogue/models/jd202a.shtmlSDA-2a, Anthem Pre-2L, Anthem Amp 1, MF A324 DAC, Rotel RCD1070
Senn HD650 Cardas, Mapletree Audio Ear+ HD2, Kimber KS1030, Bel Canto DAC2, M-Audio Transit, Laptop.
