My HT setup currently has a PSW1000 sub of which i'm very pleased. I like alot of bass and the system is in a large room so does anyone have any experience with running two PSW1000? or is this overkill on the bass? Any comments are appreciated before i spend the $$$.

In a large room, two subs are usually preferred. One behind eash front speaker.
Knock your socks off.You should look into getting a dedicated line for your rig though,if you don't have one yet.Two subs, the two oulaws, two LSI 15's,AVR,Plasma,all drawing a good amount of juice.

two subs will greatly reduce your chances of room problems with the sound waves.

where to put them is always a challenge, I have stacked them on top of each other, had one front and back and had two on the front stage, each way worked well for that particular room. You need to play around a bit with placement.

With two, the amount of air moved increases. Since you tend to like bass, the answer is in your own question. Overkill? Nah, I don't think it would be overkill if bass is what you want and HT is your main use.

It would leave you with some options that you could play around with. Stacking, stereo subs, one by your listening chair [position] and one in the best spot for frequency reproduction...the possibilities are endless.

With what you have mentioned that your preferences are, you should not be disappointed with a dual sub rig.

    I have two PSW1000's stacked.

They are connected to our STR-DA9000ES via a Y connector (Monster Turbine)

I noticed quite a difference going to dual subs.

People bag on the PSW1000, but its a very musical subwoofer.

For us, PSW1000 x 2 is sonic nirvana, at least with our living space and sonic palate.

The nice thing about the PSW1000 is it's WAF. They are very very nice pieces and the device is very classy in the living room.

FYI: I also noticed an absolutely unbelievable amazing difference in sound quality when i replaced my subwoofer cables from cheap (and I mean CHEAP) RCA cable to dedicated subwoofer cables.

    It was NIGHT and day.

The proof was instant as the PSW1000 has a feature that I use that auto turns off or on the sub based on signal level.

Our PSW1000's don't auto turn off now as much as they used to before with the cheap cables.

Anecdotal evidence, maybe but my wife and I both noticed a difference and she didn't even know I replaced the cables!

XRG, try a PC upgrade. Like an Analysis Plus copper. Mine responded well to that as well.

I'm actually going to pick up a pair of Signal Cables 10gauge Magic cables.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

P.S. Update 1/29/2008 - I ended up buying something completely different. Monster "PowerLine 300" power cables.

They are very well made. Fit and finish are impeccable.
